Many people think that Black people should be running the country, not White people. But how would you like 12% of the population ruling the 88% of the country that is not Black.
White people have been running the country since 1776 not necessarily because they are evil or the system unjust or undemocratic. At least with white people running the country, you have 70% or more of the population running the country, not 12%.
When Black people hold positions of power, I do not believe that helps me as a person of color (but not Black) to feel more empowered or represented. Black people, in my experience, advocate for Black people, not other minorities, although the rhetoric would have you suppose otherwise.
